Santa Monica Softball Academy offers quality instruction for ALL LEVELS of softball. Instructions will be given by professional softball coaches. Players will practice pitching, catching, hitting, fielding and base running. This developmental program is designed with a direct emphasis on learning the primary fundamentals that lay down the foundation for elite play in softball.
Players are typically grouped by age and ability.
Players should wear softball attire daily, including hats and cleats, sunscreen and water for hydration. Lunch is available for order thru Subway with delivery on day of camp.

SMBA's four day hitting camps are designed to focus on improving a player's hitting skills through specialized instruction, drills, and repetition.
Players will use hitting machines, batting cages and one on one instruction. We emphasize core techniques, swing mechanics, hitting for power, plate zone identification, using strength building techniques with speed and agility !
Players should wear softball attire, including hats and cleats, sunscreen and water for hydration.

Mariela played at Los Angeles Harbor College and then took her talents to Graceland University in Iowa. Still playing! She now pitches for an all-women’s U-trip team. Mariela has coached all ages and all levels of softball as a private pitching instructor and high school coach for over 8 years. She is the pitching coach for the SMSBA 10u and 12U Club teams!
Coach Nailah is a former high school varsity player, Division 1 player currently playing college ball at Dillard University! She is coaching at our summer camps and is the head coach of our 12U Club Team and is a top hitting coach with SMSBA!
A standout varsity high school player, Coach Aileen is currently playing middle infield at Santa Monica College! She is one of the coaches for our SMSBA 10U and 12U teams. She loves coaching the younger players at our camps and clinics!
Coach Cassandra is a former high school varsity and collegiate player who has been coaching our camps, skills clinics and our club teams. She is our head catchers coach and she can swing it! A power hitter on our SMBA Adult softball team, she backs it up with her play and her bat!
Coach Maco is our collegiate intern from KAUS Universty in Kyoto. She has been dynamic on the field with players and the language of softball has been fluent! A middle infielder and hitter, she has helped players at every level imprve their game!
Coach Taira is a former varsity high school player who has brought her A game to coaching with SMSBA! While still attendng college, she hs brought her skills to our program and every player who she coaches has gotten better!
SMSBA welcomes Coach Ilene to the team! A former varsity player, she started her collegiate softball career at Pasadena City College. She then received a Division 1 scholarship to play at Alcorn State University! After her playing career, she remained at Alcorn as the Graduate Assistant Coach for 3 years. During her time as a Graduate Assistant, Coach Ilene coached at clinics/camps and now brings her talent to SMSBA!

While there are no games on the off days you train! SMSBA coaches will use social distancing training with hand sanitizers to keep you on your game! Player and coach wear masks and work as a team to social distance train!
Our instructional youth softball pitching program & Catching program introduces the fundamentals of pitching or catching and we have intermediate and advance training. This developmental program is designed for 6-17 year old participants, with a direct emphasis on learning the primary fundamentals that lay down the foundation for elite play in pitching or catching for softball.
